Dr. Surbhi Khan
Dr. Surbhi Khan is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Data Science, School of Science, Engineering and Environment, at the University of Salford, United Kingdom.
She is PMP-certified by the Project Management Institute, USA, and has been ranked among the top 2% of scientists globally for two consecutive years (2023 and 2024) by Stanford University and Elsevier.
Dr. Khan supervises/co-supervises numerous PhDs and research associates and has published over 250 high-indexed articles and books with her students and collaborators. Her work has earned best paper awards and various recognitions. She is involved in externally funded research projects with institutions in the UK, India, and the Middle East. Dr. Khan has chaired sessions at IEEE conferences, served as a resource person at international conferences and faculty development programs, and holds honorary positions advising universities on achieving research and teaching excellence.
A 2024 Women in Data Science Ambassador, she has contributed to strategic decision-making, including developing courses, transforming technology, and shaping policies to promote sustainability. Her vision emphasizes impactful teaching, learning and advancing national and institutional goals.
Dr Khan was appointed in January 2025 to the Board of Governors for a four year term of office.
